You have probably noticed the new look for this website. It’s not only more current looking, based on a newer template, it also has a much simpler structure and layout.
Explore the links (after you finish reading this post!). You’ll find your way around much more easily than before. This theme also works better better with mobile devices than the old one did.
Most important, you the visitor will be able to get to the information you’re most interested in faster and easier, too.
Why the change?
The process began last year, when I created a new website for my fiction writing, scottburyauthor.com. There, you’ll find information and promotions for my biographies, novels and other fiction. That’s where you’ll also see the rotating banner that used to be at the top of this site’s home page.
Now I have completed the shift by focusing this site on professional writing services for small businesses, corporations, non-profit organizations and governments. They’re now organized by type of customer and by service.
Focus
This split allows this blog to focus on one subject: help for professional communicators like authors, marketing-communications professionals, editors and publishers. That’s why it has a new name: GRIP.
Why GRIP?

The title comes from the process I use in developing all communications, a process that I teach students and customers. It begins with the most important rules of communications:
- Know your audience.
- Know what you want to say to them.
I’ll explain how GRIP fits into that in the next blog post.
